To celebrate the launch of his new solo tabla album, RIVERS, Canadian tabla artist Shawn Mativetsky presents a solo tabla recital, a rhythmic journey to Varanasi! Each concert is a unique experience, combining creativity and spontaneity, voice and percussion, music and storytelling, taking root in the rich musical traditions of India. With his new album, RIVERS, Shawn Mativetsky is the first Quebec-based artist to release a traditional solo tabla album, and is one of only a handful of artists to do so outside of India.
