Lights of India

A photo exhibition by Caroline Tabah

Consisting of fifty photographs, the exhibition Lights of India represents Tabah’s quest for light in all its forms, whether it be the light from the sun, the light which animates the eyes of a street child, the light that shines on film sets, that of beauty, spirituality, hope, and even that which is hidden in despair.

Passionate about India, especially its arts and cinema, Caroline walks the streets of Varanasi, Mumbai, Goa, Pondicherry, Pune, Agra, and Chidambaram taking these photographs, which are accompanied by poetic reflections.

Presented in collaboration with the Pandit Ram Sahai Sangit Vidyalaya (PRSSV), this exhibition will be inaugurated with a tabla solo by Canadian tabla player Shawn Mativetsky, of the Benares Gharana, accompanied by PRSSV's Dr. Frances Shepherd on harmonium.
